Scripsi Sciptum

50 years ago, a letter from Australia to Switzerland took six weeks to arrive…now the digital revolution means a world instantaneously connected.

Exploring old-fashioned letter writing and new age social media, dancers from Australasian Dance Collective (Brisbane) and Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble (Basel, Switzerland) shared their thoughts and ideas on the fine art of communication. Crossing the hemisphere divide, these conversations provided the inspiration for two quirky, new dance works - one by Natalie Weir and one by Cathy Sharp - that cooked up a storm when they premiered in Basel, Switzerland in 2011.

Now it’s Brisbane’s turn…Scripsi Scriptum delivers a rare opportunity to see Australian and European-styled contemporary dance side by side.
