Mature Program

Australasian Dance Collective believes creativity, reciprocity and artistic spirit know no age limit. We invite you to connect with yourself, your body and your community with our Mature Program offerings.

The Mature Program facilitates a range of movement practices, fosters a sense of community, promotes healthy living and positive ageing. Our tailored program invigorates and inspires, developing your physical and creative skills in a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

The benefits of dance on your physical and mental health are well-documented, and at ADC you will be encouraged to reconnect with your body, challenge yourself, and explore the power of your creativity.

We invite you to connect with yourself, your physicality and your community with our Mature Classes and Mature Intensive. Designed for anyone who has an interest in moving their bodies, joyously. No previous dance experience is necessary.

#Mature Workshops

ADC is very excited to announce a workshop series facilitated by Brian Lucas

Join us for a four-part series of workshops facilitated by acclaimed choreographer, director, teacher, writer and arts-advocate, Brian Lucas. With a multi-faceted career spanning over 40 years, Brian brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the program.

A sanctuary, in its original meaning, is a sacred place, such as a shrine, protected by ecclesiastical immunity. The term has since come to be used for any place of safety - a haven, a refuge._

Drawing on the real-life experiences of the participants, this exploratory creative workshop series will focus on the personal and collective search for sanctuary - a place of respite not just in our world, our communities and our homes, but especially within our own bodies.

It is about finding and nurturing a solid quiet core within an increasingly loud and chaotic world.

These workshops will explore the idea of allowing ourselves to move slowly in a world that moves increasingly quickly.

Of letting ideas reveal themselves to us, rather than being incessantly thrown at us.

Of allowing ourselves to safely embrace change rather than being constantly battered by it.

And the importance of gifting ourselves the time and space to think and feel deeply.

As part of ADC’s Mature Program, this series provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals in a supportive and stimulating setting, all while developing your own physicality and creativity.
