Josephine Weise commenced her training at the Pamela Marshall Academy of Dance, in Queensland’s Hervey Bay.

In 2013, she graduated from the Queensland Dance School of Excellence and continued her studies in 2014 at Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year.

After an apprenticeship with SDC, Josie joined the company in 2016 and spent three years touring extensively in Australia and internationally. She performed numerous works by Rafael Bonachela and worked with Alexander Ekman, Melanie Lane, Antony Hamilton, Gideon Obarzanek, Stephanie Lake, Gabrielle Nankivell and Katina Olsen.
In 2019, Weise joined Australasian Dance Collective and was nominated ‘Dancer to Watch’ in Dance Australia’s Critic’s Choice for 2019.

She was also nominated for an Australian Dance Award for ‘Outstanding Performance By A Female Dancer- 2019’ for her performance in The Dinner Party.

Weise has been a part of ADC’s seasons of Matrix, Arc, Aftermath and THREE as well as appearing in dance films by Cass Mortimer Eipper (Liminal) and Jack Lister (Still Life).
