#About Still Life
Still Life thrusts the ancient and enduring notions of the Memento Mori movement into the 21st century through a new lens of dance and film.
Enter a visually rich state of flux; a void where the beauty in dance, as in life, is transient. A stirring cinematic experience, as dance journeys a landscape timeworn yet untraversed, unpacking the deep symbolism rooted in the famed artworks of the seventeenth century movement; a touchstone of our own mortality, the beauty in decay and our relationship with time.
The dichotomy of the permanence of visual artworks against the ephemeral nature of dance creates a world of poignant conflict as time passes and memories hold, still.
