Gabrielle’s work covers broad terrain - from choreographic strategies for collaboration via site specific adventures and full-length solos to main stage ensemble works. Her work has been widely presented across Australia, Europe and Asia by Adelaide Festival Centre, Arts House, Cankarjev Dom (Slovenia), Carriageworks, Esplanade Theatres (Singapore), Festival d’automne (France), High Fest Yerevan (Armenia), Klapstuk (Belgium), Lyric Theatre (Hong Kong), Roslyn Packer Theatre, Le Théâtre National de la Danse Chaillot (Paris), Theatre Royal Hobart, The Joyce (NYC) & The Place (London) amongst others.

In the past year Gabrielle created The Incandescent Dark for Australasian Dance Collective’s THREE 2.0, Wonder Grit, commissioned by The Mill & Adelaide Festival Centre for The Move, and Future History, a full-length solo performance born from her 2019 Arts South Australia Fellowship research. She is also developing Sightings, a site-specific performance making model in collaboration with Vitalstatistix.

Recent commissions include, Neon Aether, for Sydney Dance Company’s 50th Anniversary Season 1 and 2019 National Tour, Ava, a bespoke solo for Samantha Hines in Dancenorth’s Communal Table for Brisbane Festival, Carbon Field with 40 dancers of the Queensland Ballet and ADC, SURGE for Dancenorth as part of Festival 2018 for the Commonwealth Games and Order of Things and Focus for Frontier Danceland Singapore. In 2017 her work Wildebeest, for Sydney Dance Company, was nominated for a Helpmann Award ‘Best Choreography in a Ballet, Dance or Physical Theatre Production’.
Gabrielle also provides choreography and movement consultancy across stage and film productions such as State Theatre Company of South Australia’s The Popular Mechanicals, Windmill Theatre Co’s multi award-winning School Dance and Girl Asleep and internationally acclaimed Australian feature film Girl Asleep, directed by Rosemary Myers.

As a dancer Gabrielle honed her dance career in Europe performing for Belgian artists Alexander Baervoets and Ultima Vez/Wim Vandekeybus and collaborating with Jurij Konjar (Slovenia), Raul Maia (Portugal) and Thomas Steyaert (Belgium). She has also lived and worked in Germany and Denmark. Since re-connecting with Australia through her own projects Gabrielle has performed with Australian Dance Theatre, Branch Nebula, Chunky Move/Gideon Obarzanek, Gavin Webber, Regurgitator & The Farm amongst many others.

Gabrielle has been awarded several coveted international choreographic residencies and is the recipient of the Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship, two Impulstanz Vienna DanceWEB Scholarships, the inaugural Keith Bain Choreographic Travel Fellowship, the 2015 Tanja Liedtke Fellowship and a 2019 Arts South Australia Fellowship.

Gabrielle was the 2017 Artist in Residence (Contemporary Dance) on faculty at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. In 2021 she was Sydney Dance Company’s inaugural Training Associate.
