PD for Educators

ADC is passionate about offering Professional Development for dance educators.

Our FOCUS workshops are aligned to support educators with expansion and development of skills relevant to current curriculum (Y7-10) and syllabus (Y11&12) and feature a variety of contemporary dance techniques, choreographic development, repertoire and discussion.

Annually, we facilitate two FOCUS professional development days for educators – one is held in person in the beautiful ADC Studio with a focus on physical and creative practice and the other is presented online with a focus on creating dance for the digital realm.

#FOCUS

/ Live

Spend time in the beautiful ADC Studio for our FOCUS / Live Professional Development Day. This is an opportunity to work closely with the ADC team, talking through a comprehensive toolkit of class-planning, creative tasks and practices.

In this stimulating and energising professional development day, we will provide a platform for open discussion and opportunity for participants to present their needs and ask questions. Through the lens of cultivating creativity, we will empower and enable you with new skills and creative tools that can be drawn on to help answer the demands of the curriculum and the goals you desire to achieve with your students.

#FOCUS

/ Digital

ADC is deeply committed to reimagining our performance spaces and mediums, adapting how we connect to audiences, redefining our boundaries and becoming more accessible. This exciting FOCUS Professional Development Day deals entirely in the digital space.

Delivered online, FOCUS / Digital covers all the elements of creating for the technological age - from storyboarding to filming to editing. With the increasing digitisation of our society, it is imperative that we evolve and scaffold our appreciation of live dance.
